Change your mind about fruit wines!
A mix of plum, blueberry, rosemary and pumpkin (!) this is a dessert wine with a great line of acid and lovely underlying savouriness. There's a a full, textured mouth-feel and even a hint of chocolate at the end. Marvellous with cheese or a couple of squares of after dinner chocolate; great sipping just on its own.
Here's what winemaker SandRa has to say "Red plums macerated with sugar for two days, blueberries squeezed in a press; the juice went to the plums, the skins went with the pumpkin that was boiled for 30mins. This was strained and poured over the fruits, along with a "tea" made from fresh rosemary. All produce grown organically. Left for a week for a furious ferment then racked into a glass fermenter. Seven months fermentation then it was blended with a plum jam wine and French brandy. Bottle aged for 13 months."
