The wines of Rod and Emma Easthope are some of our absolute favourites and more recently Rod has become known for his elegant whites and lip-smackingly delicious Gamay. But did you know Rod cut his teeth as a winemaker making extremely classical reds like Syrah and Merlot... infact it is the 2013 Le Sol Syrah that he made at Craggy Range that is still one of NZ's most awarded red wines. It's been 5 years since Rod has been able to make a Syrah and we're stoked to be the first to drop his stunning new 'Home Block' Syrah that he and Emma grow on the farm in Maraekakaho, just west of the Gimblett Gravels and Bridge Pa Triangle. In keeping with the less-is-more approach of Easthope it's a lighter framed, incredibly aromatic wine with a dark core of fruit. It shows young vine charm and is amazing value for money.
