Where do you start when it comes to Pinot Noir? This is a Burgundian (should that be The Burgundian) variety that has revolutionized the NZ wine industry moving us from producers of distinctively vibrant Sauvignon Blanc to world-class producers of “Serious Wine”. NZ is one of the few places that can grown Pinot Noir in more than one or two discrete locations - we create world-class wine from Wairarapa down and even produce serviceable, good value wine in Hawke's Bay and Auckland.
At its best Pinot is silky and intense with plush fruit (plum, bramble, raspberry & blackberry) and intense earthy aromas. When it comes to winemaking, the little you do to the grape the better making it a canvas for the broad brush strokes of terroir.
