McLaren Vale rather than Barossa - this is a take on Australian Shiraz unique to Chester Osborn and his family estate. The vineyards have been in the family since 1912 and Chester is the 4th generation winemaker. His philosophy? Wine is made to be aged; why bother if you can't age it? The winery is run on organic and biodynamic principles and this shines through the wine. Here you've got complex red and black fruits - very sweet and fresh on the nose. Its quickly followed by the expected pepper and some spice. There's fine tannins and some tertiary characteristics developing already. Chester would tell you that you could easily put this down for fifteen years - but we'd recommend you buy a bottle to enjoy right now too.
