Collection: La Violetta
"Andrew Hoadley of La Violetta, for example, one of the most influential of the new-wave producers, makes exceptional wines such as a riesling, a shiraz and a cabernet-malbec blend that are quirky enough to satisfy the hipster somms but classic enough to please anyone." - Max Allen, Gourmet Traveller
La Violetta is undeniably one of Western Australia's most innovative producers, from day one AJ Hoadley made waves with his debut release being named in Matthew Jukes’ Top 100 and Sarah Ahmed’s Top Five Australian wines and with Mike Bennie describing the wines as “One of the most exciting Australian producer's ranges to cross my desk."
I was referred these wines on a trip to Brisbane about 6 months ago and, having smuggled back a couple of them in my suitcase, fell in love. They are vibrant, modern, avant garde but also classic in their own way. Esoteric. La Violetta are based in Denmark on the southern tip of W/A, about 400km south of Perth. The grapes are sourced from a handful of trusted growers with exceptional vineyards, some amongst the oldest in the state most of which are managed organically.
As to the name, La Violetta derives from an old Piedmontese song celebrating the joys of intoxication.
