An overheard conversation in the pub lead to Kym Teusner buying some of the truly old vines of the Barossa. This fantastic sparkling Shiraz is made from a selection of their best grapes, including the Albert blocks. Described by Kym as the perfect answer of to the age-old question of what to drink with breakfast (!!) - it is full of plum, cherry and dark forest fruits. There's a lovely savouriness under all that fruit, some spice and fine tannins. It would indeed go very well with a big plate of fried bacon, but we'd also suggest trying it with your Christmas ham or turkey. By all means pour it into a flute - but you might get more of the fabulous nose in a standard wine glass - and there's no shortage of bubbles!
