Cannonau is genetically the same as Grenache - but isolated on Sardinia for centuries, it has developed its own distinct characteristics. This wine has loads of bright, ripe red fruit but also a lovely floral scent of dried violets and rose petals. There's also some savoury, herbal complexity. This will be delicious with any dishes with big Mediterranean flavours.
