Carmenere is Chile's great red grape. Originally a Bordeaux grape, though it is rare there now; Chilean Carmenere was long thought to be Merlot. While it has a similar intense plum and blackberry fruitiness - Carmenere is distinctive and the Origine has a lovely black pepper spiciness. This is a perfect wine to accompany a relaxed meal - the grapes acidity making it a great food match.
