Collection: Vanguardist
Cult Wine is proud to announce the release of the Vanguardist and La Petite Vanguard. Vanguardist wines are made by three dear friends and colleagues: Michael Corbett, Alexandra Maurisset & Edouard Maurisset-Latour. Cult Wine's Jules van Costello worked with and Alexandra and Edouard at Craggy Range in Hawkes Bay for a number of years. We think that Vanguardist and La Petite Vanguard are truly perfect examples of the types of wine we want to showcase at Cult. They are exceptional expressions of variety and place made with a lot of personality. They are made in tiny volumes and represent amazing value for money.
About Vanguardist Wines:
Vanguardist Wines is, in it's heart, a collaborative project between three friends, each from varying walks of life, that came to the realisation (after many a late evening in the sleepy town of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand) that they held the same ideals about wine. We all have jobs and take time outside of our everyday lives so that we have our own creative licence to produce wines that we love to drink. Driven by a passion for creating wines with intrigue, 'V' is about pushing the boundaries of ‘status quo’ winemaking and viticulture. Wines that are delicious, textural and enticing. In an industry that is awash with overly commercialised wines produced by corporates who take up all the elbow room, shout noisily across the table and flood the market with mass produced wine that are often guised as ‘boutique wines’, we wish to make a humble stand and be vanguardist in our methods.
