I'd like to introduce you to my new favourite wine... (this week anyway) the fantastic 2016 Chateau de Grande Pre Fleurie Cuvee SPaciale... the wine comes from 60 - 70 year old vines and is vinified in stunning spherical stainless steal fermenters. Chateau de Grande Pre is a historical Chateau that used to be owned by the DuBoeuf family but is now run by the third generation winemaker Romain who is an acolyte of cult Jura producer Jean Francois Ganevat (who buys grapes from the Domaine for his negotiant wines). It is a silky, slippery, feminine Beaujolais (Fleurie being one of the more feminine applications) with lots of length, texture and minerality. If you are a fan of lighter, savoury reds with real seriousness I can't think of a better wine. Natural.
