To me, there is no better time than spring for bright, fresh, zesty Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and to me, the 2017 Claythorpe is one of the best (and best value) examples of the jumpy, fruity, grassy classically Marlborough style. Packed full of passion fruit, lime, lemongrass with hints of stereotypical gooseberry and herb this is the ultimate wine for either fresh asparagus with a poached egg or crunchy fish and chips with fresh tartare sauce.
