With a verdant (and barely legible) yellow label Texture Like the Sun is a 9 variety field blend composed of all the varieties Taras grows. 50% destemmed and 50% whole bunch it is Pinot Noir, Grenache, Gamay, Mourvedre, Pinot Meunier, Gewurztraminer, Fragola, Riesling & Chardonnay. Taras describes its thus, "It’s something in a clear bottle, nothing to hide, yummy". It is named for a line in The Stranglers' Golden Brown, played at Taras and Amber Ochota's wedding. Natural. Mindfuck Alert!
"What fun this is. Quirky, for sure, but not a gimmick wine. Red berries, earth, pepper, black tea bags, so much spice. It’s light bodied, but fleshy, with powdery texture, perfume and spice, a lick of amaro herbs, strawberry juice, a playful spritz, cranberry juice acidity, and a finish that just skips along, carefree and full of joy. What a thing to drink. Wonderful. 94/100 " Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
"the fragrance here is striking, lithe, juicy, playful, open-knit and multifaceted. Spark and shine. Diamond-like. Drink now. 93/100" - James Suckling
