This is the star of the show and the core 'estate' wine. Made from 65% Garnacha (45+ year old bush vines) 30% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon (15 year old high-density planted vines) planted on granite and sand at 650m above sea level. This wine is 70% destemmed / 30% whole bunch with a 4 day pre-soak and 20 day maceration before being aged in old barrels, large format oak and concrete. This wine is rich, complex and giving with lots of wild strawberry and blueberry fruit, spice and complex herbal notes.
"Black cherries with plums and boysenberries and a hint of white pepper on the nose. A fluid entry on the palate, with a firm, velvety tannin structure that builds gradually, giving a fuller mouth-feel at the end with a composed, fruity finish."

"You would be forgiven to think that this might be Pinot Noir on the nose with the dark cherry and red fruits compote, but there’s also plums and dark cherries in the mix then vanilla and clove wood spice layers. Youthful appearance and quite primary with the fruits. On the palate it’s not Pinot Noir like, but does have noticeable warmth from the alcohol and more firmness to the tannins. Plums and dark cherry flavours return, moderate oak layers with an earthy. There may be some wild red fruit flavours that come to mind. This wine does have some higher alcohol. It’s lovely and delicious, but perhaps needs food. Best drinking from 2023 through 2029."
