We've put together six wines that intrigue and fascinate. Wines that are a little bit edgy. Wines that feel like they are taking a risk. Wine shouldn't be boring - we should be excited about what might be inside the bottle and these are wines that make us feel exactly that!
We've got the Unico Zelo Jungle Jungle - a Dolcetto asking to be cooled right down and glugged with a great homemade pizza. We also want you to chill your Swift Gamay and enjoy the fruity goodness. Slam that Prophet's Rock Infusion in the fridge - its a Pinot Noir rose-style where the berries have infused in their own juice. The Takapoto Estate Crossing POint Red might look more conventional - to you realise its grown on the banks of Lake Karapiro and along with the usual Bordeaux grapes there's a hefty splash of Pinotage in the mix. For whites we've chosen Gruner Veltliner - rarely grown out of Austria, October 30 wines in Matakana are giving it a go with mouthwatering results. Finally, and our pick of the bunch an amazing Piquepoul Pinet from from Herault with incredible complexity alongside its moreish acidity.
