Saperavi - the great red grape of Georgia - and one that is becoming a favourite with red wine drinkers across the globe looking for something a little more powerful but also a little more authentic. If you've caught the Saperavi bug and now want to introduce your friends - this is a great entry-level wine for that. If you've heard all the fuss and wondering what its about - again - this wine will introduce you to the big berry flavours and underlying spice which make people love the grape. This is a blend of Saperavi made in the European method with Saperavi made in the traditional clay amphora (qvevri) so there's a little bit of funkiness and heightened tannins. This is a very approachable, drinkable example of the grape.
