Georgian Saperavi is the red wine drinkers red wine. One of the few grapes with black flesh as well as black skins these are all an inky colour in the glass. Dark forest fruits, plums, licorice and an intense tannic line. These are wines that love food and meat in particular. They are not for the faint-hearted; and we do recommend decanting - but each of these is a satisfying, fascinating insight into the wine making culture and history of the land of 8000 vintages.
